Yes. Our storage provides 100% S3 API compatibility. You can use any S3 SDK, CLI tool (aws-cli), or application that supports S3 without any code changes.

How is storage billed?

Storage is billed at €5.49/month which includes 1TB of storage and 1TB of outbound traffic. Additional storage beyond the included quota is billed at €5.49/TB/month. Inbound traffic is always free.

How do I access my storage?

Access via S3 API using path-style (s3.danubedata.ro/bucket) or virtual-host style (bucket.s3.danubedata.ro). You can also connect via SFTP on port 2222 using the same S3 access key and secret — perfect for NAS devices (Synology, QNAP, TrueNAS), backup scripts, and file managers like FileZilla or WinSCP.

Is my data encrypted?

Yes. We support three encryption methods: SSE-S3 (automatic AES-256 encryption managed by us), SSE-KMS (customer-managed keys via our Key Management Service for full control and audit trails), and SSE-C (bring your own encryption keys). All data in transit is protected with TLS 1.3.

Where is my data stored?

All data is stored in our EU datacenters (Germany) with triple replication for durability. DanubeData is European-owned with zero US jurisdiction — your data is never subject to the Cloud Act or FISA Section 702.

Can I migrate from AWS S3 to DanubeData?

Yes, migration is straightforward because we use the same S3 API. Use aws-cli, rclone, or any S3-compatible migration tool — just change your endpoint URL to s3.danubedata.ro and update your access keys.
