What is Storage Share?

Storage Share is managed Nextcloud hosting for file storage, sharing, and collaboration. We run the application, database, cache, and storage infrastructure. You manage your files, users, and Nextcloud settings.

What storage backend do you use?

Your files are stored on our S3-compatible Ceph object storage. Each Nextcloud instance has its own file bucket, MariaDB database, and Redis cache.

Can I access my files from mobile devices?

Yes. Use the official Nextcloud apps for iOS and Android, desktop sync clients for Windows, macOS, and Linux, or a web browser. Mobile clients can upload photos and videos automatically.

Is my data encrypted?

Browser and sync-client connections use HTTPS with automatically managed TLS certificates. Discuss additional file-encryption requirements with support before deploying your instance.

Can I use custom subdomains?

Each instance has an address under storage.danubedata.ro. Add extra subdomains up to your plan limit, shown above. You can also add your own domain in the dashboard and verify its DNS records.

What Nextcloud apps are supported?

You have Nextcloud admin access and its built-in app store. Calendar, Contacts, Notes, and Tasks extend your workspace. Check each app’s requirements before enabling it. Talk may need additional configuration; Nextcloud Office (Collabora) is not included as a managed office service.

How are backups handled?

Enable daily automated snapshots in your instance settings, or create a manual snapshot from the dashboard. Snapshots capture the database, configuration, and S3 files. Object-storage redundancy protects against hardware failures; keep a separate export for your own recovery needs.

Can I migrate from another Nextcloud provider?

Use the Nextcloud desktop client or WebDAV to transfer files. Review the migration requirements if you also need to move users and app data. Open a support ticket from your dashboard if you hit a problem.

Where is my data stored?

Storage Share runs in our datacenter in Falkenstein, Germany. Your files remain in the EU.

Why are the plans named after Danube Delta branches?

Sulina, Sfântu Gheorghe, and Chilia are the three branches of the Danube Delta. They give our Storage Share tiers their names, from the navigable Sulina channel to the largest branch, Chilia.

Sync that fits the way you work

Keep selected folders on your computer for offline work. The desktop client syncs changes when you reconnect. Mobile clients can upload photos and videos automatically.

Use Nextcloud’s app store for Calendar, Contacts, Notes, and Tasks. App requirements vary. Talk may need additional configuration, and a managed Collabora office server is not included.
